Grillin’ On The Bay and The Brooklyn Chili Smack Down
Grillin’ On The Bay and The Brooklyn Chili Smackdown is sponsored by RUB BBQ and Butternuts Beer and Ale and will benefit St. Mark School. If you are not entered to have your food judge or to be a judge, you can eat your way through the festivities. From 1-4 p.m., you can sample all the chili for only $10. There will also be barbecue, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and other food available for purchase.
Saturday, April 4. Gates open at 6 a.m, food will be available starting at noon. St. Mark’s Schoolyard, corner of East 18th Street and Avenue Z.
Opening Day Clean-Up at Prospect Park
Saturday is the official opening day for Prospect Park. Join a group of volunteers to help clean and spruce the Park for the spring season. Enter the Park at 9th Street, walk towards the ballfields, and meet at the Tennis House.
Saturday, April 4. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Prospect Park, meet at the Tennis House located on the edge of the Long Meadow.
Cyclone Roller Coaster Opening Day
Coney Island’s famous Cyclone Roller Coaster kicks off its 2009 season. Miss Cyclone and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will break a bottle of authentic Brooklyn chocolate egg cream against the coaster’s lead car. The Hungry March Band will perform.

Dumbo Pop-Up Flea
This weekend, Daily Candy is the guest curator for the Dumbo Pop-Up Flea. The Flea features 35 top vintage/antique vendors of furniture, clothing, objects, jewelry, curiosities, accessories, art, lighting, and food. For more details on all the vendors, click here.

Town Hall Forum on 2009 Federal Economic Stimulus Law
This Town Hall Forum will be hosted by Members of Congress Ed Towns and Yvette Clarke and will featue local business owners and State and City officials. They will explain how the 2009 Federal Economic Stimulus Law works and what it will do for Brooklyn. You can ask questions, meet decision makers, and express your opinion.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Meeting
Senator Squadron will outline his plan for how to build a real, world-class Brooklyn Bridge Park. The meeting will consist of a presentation, followed by a Q&A session.

The Ganesh Experiment at Brooklyn Artists Gym
Brooklyn Artists Gym is hosting “The Ganesh Experiment” which consists of 30 visual artists, 10 musicians, 3 installation artists, 1 performance artist, and nude painted models. They will work on the spot with live music, and when they’re finished, put their work up in the gallery.

Little League Parade at Prospect Park
Little Leaguers from all over Brooklyn will march through Park Slope and Prospect Park to kick off the 2009 baseball and softball season. The parade begins at Seventh Avenue and Carroll Street and ends at the Bandshell.

Culver Garden Group Meeting
The Culver Garden organizers are meeting up so if you’re interested in getting involved with the community then attend.
