Winter on a Flatbush Farm
Get ready for winter as they did in the 19th century farming village of Flatbush. Kids can learn how to make candles, start a patchwork quilt, and preserve food for the coming months. Watch flax be spun into thread and enjoy Dutch treats made in an open hearth from a Lefferts family recipe.
Today, Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30. 1-4 p.m. Free. At Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park, at the intersection of Flatbush and Ocean Avenues and Empire Boulevard.
Sunset Park’s Community Garden
Do you want a place to grow vegetables and flowers and play with the kids? Are you interested in helping to beautify your neighborhood? If so, join the Sunset Park Garden coalition and discuss a plan of action for converting the empty lots near the 9th Avenue subway station into a community garden for the residents of Sunset Park.
Saturday, November 29. 10:30 a.m. Meet in front of the 9th Avenue subway station on 39th Street.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Sunday, November 30. 2 p.m. $6. Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, 2900 Campus Road.
