4th Annual Planting Daffodils Bulbs
Want to help make your community beautiful? Of course you do! Bring your green thumb to Crown Heights and plant some daffodil bulbs! Participants are asked to bring gloves, bulb planters, and a small gardening spade to help. All are welcome! Saturday, November 6. 10 a.m. – Last bulb is planted. Free. Meeting at Franklin Avenue and Park Place.
The Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea is located in the Bishop Loughlin schoolyard in Fort Greene on Saturdays and at Skylight One Hanson (the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank across from the Atlantic Center mall) on Sundays. The Flea features over a 100 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, November 6 & 7. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 176 Lafayette Avenue and One Hanson Place.

Walking Tour: Brooklyn 101
New York Like a Native offers Brooklyn 101, an eclectic, energetic introduction to Brooklyn’s history, architecture, lore, and landscape, including Park Slope, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Heights, ending at Fulton Ferry. Saturday, November 6. 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. $15. Meeting place located at the Southwest corner of Plaza Street and Flatbush Avenue.
Project LeafDrop 2010
Composting is beneficial both as a money-saving source of nutrient-rich fertilizer for gardeners, as well as a huge tool for waste reduction, channeling unnecessary waste away from the landfill. The new Church Avenue Communal Garden, a project of the Urban Gardens and Farms Initiative, will hold leaf collections so that you can bring your fall leaves and be part of the movement for less garbage and more gardens! Saturday, November 6. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free. Corner of East 21st Street and Kenmore Terrace (1 block south of Church Avenue), Church Avenue Communal Garden.
“Moving Forward on Fourth”
Fourth Avenue is undergoing major changes that will impact you, your surroundings, your commute, or even your ability to park. The Park Slope Civic Council wants to inform their neighbors about these prospective changes, and get more ideas about what should happen along this avenue on the rise. All are welcome to attend! Saturday, November 6. 9:30 a.m. Free. Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street, under the east underpass of the subway station.
