The Brooklyn Flea
The Flea is located not only at the former bank at One Hanson, but also at the Fort Greene market. On Saturdays, the market will be located at the Fort Greene location and on Sundays you can find the market at One Hanson which is located at the clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall. The Flea features 100 vendors and a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. 2nd Annual City Wide Teen Talent Showcase and Fundraiser
The evening’s esteemed panel of judges will present trophies in the categories of dance, spoken word, and singing, along with a finalist presentation from the Youth Speak spoken word contest, and a fashion show of casual and evening attire. Williamsburg: History, Art, and Beer
Join Norman Oder on an energetic, eclectic introduction to the area north of Broadway, including visits to several art galleries, a discussion of new development in the area, and a visit to the waterfront. The tour will end at the Brooklyn Brewery, where participants can then go on the brewery’s own free tour. Saturday, June 12. 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. $15. Meeting place is at the NE corner of Broadway and Bedford, outside the Williamsburgh Art & Historical Center.

Vanderbilt Summer Streets
On Saturday, Vanderbilt Avenue between Dean Street and Park Place will be closed to traffic from 12:00 5:00PM to create a pedestrian plaza where people of all ages can come to play, bike, shop, eat great food- and celebrate the World Cup! Special events this Saturday include a soccer clinic and fashion show for kids. More info here.

FABfest
Cooking demos, food tastings, moonshine sipping and a chilled organic soup pureed making — with the aid of a human-powered bike-blender, and salsa lessons are all part of the line-up for the second weekend of FABfest. Underground Muses of Green-Wood
Many famous and fascinating artists, sculptors, actors and composers have made GreenWood Cemetery their place of final repose. Leonard Bernstein, Fred Ebb, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Asher B. Durand, George Caitlin, George Bellows, William Merritt Chase, and John LaFarge are just a few that participants can visit with Ruth Edebohls. People can also enjoy the visual delights of Green-Wood, its trees and ponds and its sculpture and buildings by the leading artists and architects of their time, all in a setting of remarkable beauty. Danny Kalb Trio at Green-Wood
Blues legend Danny Kalb will lead his trio in a special performance at Green-wood Cemetery on Sunday night at 7 p.m. (This event has also been advertised on Brownstoner.) Tix are $15 for Historic Fund Members and $20 for non-members. More info here.

Photography Show at Still Hip
The children’s shop Still Hip is hosting an opening reception for a show featuring photography from Clinton Hill resident Orrie King. The photographs in the show will focus on maternity, children, adolescence, and family, including out-takes from some of these commissioned sessions and documentations of her own family. The reception is from 7-9 pm at 283 Grand Avenue.

  1. ESPN will have a massive HD “projection cube” set up tomorrow on Vanderbilt Ave in Prospect Heights showing World Cup matches, starting at 10am with Argentina v Nigeria and of course the 2:30pm England v USA. It’s part of Summer Streets. More info on phndc.org or vanderbiltave.com.
