Visit Brooklyn Museum this weekend to view two new exhibitions, both opening Friday, February 12. To Live Forever explores the ancient Egyptians’ beliefs about life, death, and the afterlife. In the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, experience Kiki Smith: Sojourn, a site-specific installation exploring ideas of creative inspiration and the cycle of life in relation to women artists. “Stealth: Artists Above The Radar”
Brooklynite Gallery is proud to present our first exhibition of 2010 entitled,
“Stealth: Artists Above The Radar”, featuring the works of Collin Van Der Sluijs

The Brooklyn Flea
The Flea is located at the former bank at One Hanson for the rest of the winter. The clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall, will be the Flea’s new home every Saturday and Sunday through March, for 12 weekends only. The Flea features 100 vendors and a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, February 13 & 14. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 1 Hanson Place, Skylight One Hanson.

“Robin Hood: Prince of…MONSTERS!”
Mainspring Collective and The Brooklyn Lyceum present the second installment of their new children’s theater series, Monster Literature, written and conceived by Daniel John Kelley. ‘Robin Hood: Prince of…MONSTERS!’ offers a new twist on an old classic. There’s something funny happening in Sherwood Forest. The evil wizard, Zorlan Morlan has used his magic to turn Robin Hood into a big old scaredy cat, and transform his band of Merry Men into a band of Merry…MONSTERS! It’s up to 12 year old Benjy Bleeglehorn and her dashing sidekick, Bravo, to enter the story and turn Robin Hood back into his old self again- by teaching him what it means to be a hero. For ages 5 and up. Saturday & Sunday, February 13 & 14. Saturday’s show runs 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday’s show runs from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. 35 minutes long. $5. 227 4th Avenue, Brooklyn Lyceum.

Split Ends at Dumbo Arts Center
A.I.R. Gallery presents Split Ends, a public discussion of with artists who come from places of conflict and/or whose work focuses on conflict. Moderated by Michael Connor and organized by 2008-09 A.I.R. Fellow Nivi Alroy. Participating artists include Neboja Seric Shoba, Mushon Zer Aviv, Hakan Topal, Sean Hemmermelle, and Nivi Alroy. Haiti Relief Sale
MOMS Club of Park Slope, a 50-family organization, is holding a huge indoor rummage sale to benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti. They’ll be selling lots of kid’s and baby clothing, toys, household items, books, baby proofing stuff, kids and baby gear and so much more-something for everyone! From 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. everything will be half off! 100% of proceeds will be donated to the Haitian relief efforts.
