“Split Estate” – The award-winning film by Debra Anderson documents the devastating effect that gas drilling is having on the health of families and the environment in the Rocky Mountain West. As gas companies prepare to drill for gas in New York State, this film is of vital importance to those committed to protecting New York’s drinking water. (76 min.) MARP Pedestrian Plaza Party
MARP is having an opening reception for a Mini-Exhibition of design ideas that were submitted to its “Call for Ideas” for the pedestrian plaza that will be built on Myrtle between Grand and Emerson. Light refreshments and wine will be served. Please come by to view and comment on the submissions, and contribute your own ideas on sustainable design elements, amenities, seating, and public art. The Brooklyn Flea
The Flea is located at the former bank at One Hanson for the rest of the winter. The clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall, will be the Flea’s new home every Saturday and Sunday through March, for 12 weekends only. The Flea features 100 vendors and a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, February 6 & 7. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 1 Hanson Place, Skylight One Hanson.

“F.R.A.G.M.E.N.T.S: The art of Eugene Coles”
Eugene Coles is a Baltimore-based artist who spent his youth in East Elmhurst, Queens. Coles’ 40 years of work brings the sensitivity of African American culture to pencil drawings, collages, paintings and even record albums. Coles is the artist who created the Gil Scott Heron album cover for “Winter in America”. This show will feature his master works in pencil and collage. The show will include a silent auction of his works; all purchases made during the event will be tax deductible. Saturday, February 6. 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Free. 93 Atlantic Avenue, Brick Real Estate.

Grace Church Winterfair
The Fair will have many items on sale at bargain prices, including baked goods, books, CDs and DVDs, children’s and women’s clothing, furniture, jewelry, plants, tchotchkes, toys, and sporting goods. The silent auction and gala begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the event, which includes wine, beer, soft drinks, plentiful appetizers, and the right to bid on items in the auction are $20 in advance. Broadbelt Guitar Duo
Brothers Sean and Girshwyn Broadbelt carry forward their family’s long tradition of playing their native Trinidadian and Venezuelan music. With hints of Django Reinhardt, Paco de Lucia and combinations of Spanish Classical Jazz, Broadbelt Guitar Duo’s unique style and sound is Latin Classical acoustic guitar with a twist of Latin Jazz, Blues and Spanish Jazz. This event is part of Brooklyn Public Library’s celebration of Black History Month. Saturday, February 6. 4 p.m. Free. Dweck Center, Central Library.

Workout Benefit for Haiti
New Body Boot Camp and Wellness will open its new studio and with a helping hand will help those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti in its fundraising program ‘Get Fit for Haiti . This workout is free, but the studio is asking for a donation that will go to directly to Yele Haiti, Wyclef Jean’s philanthropic organization.
