Healthy Living Series
Bedford-Stuyvesant’s YMCA is holding a series of healthy living workshops this month to help support healthy minds and bodies around the area. On Tuesday, you can meet with a health counselor for free and ask questions pertaining to your body. All are welcome. The Secret Science Club: “A Mind-blowing Evening”

Do these questions pop into your mind often: What is fear? How did it evolve? What parts of the brain are most involved with emotions? Neuroscientists Joseph LeDoux and Daniela Schiller be lecturing on fear, memory, and the brain and answering these very questions. Afterwards, they will jam with their heavy mental band, the Amygdaloids. 21 and older are welcome to attend. Tuesday, March 9. Doors at 7:30 p.m. Free. 149 7th Street, The Bell House.

Monthly Volunteer Gathering
Sustainable Flatbush and Vox Pop are holding its second volunteer gathering this Tuesday. Come learn about the event, share your energy-related stories, and mingle with others in your community that see the need for change. Also, there’s delicious coffee and food at this one-of-a-kind café! Tuesday, March 9. 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Free. 1022 Cortelyou Road, Vox Pop Café.

Peter Pan Showing

Tourette Syndrome: An Overview

This event is presented by Evan Michaels, a licensed clinical social worker from the Tourette Syndrome Association’s Counseling Program. He can discuss with you about any of the questions that you may have about Tourette Syndrome. All are welcome. Thursday, March 11. 6:30 p.m. Free. Greene Hill Food Co-op: General Meeting
The Greene Hill Food Co-op is having its monthly general meeting this Thursday. This month’s meeting focuses in on membership options and their financial plan. The Finance Committee will present the numbers they’ve crunched and how that translates into the number of members they need to join and the amount members will need to invest. Questions such as – What will an individual membership look like? Or how will they make work shifts and member ‘investment’ shares equitable and financially sound? – will be discussed.
