Public Safety Committee
There will be a presentation and discussion with representatives for Whole Foods on the resumption of environmental remediation activities at 210-230 3rd Street and 370-384 3rd Avenue (southeast corner 3rd Street/3rd Avenue). There will also be a presentation and consideration of a letter of support for an application for a Gowanus Watershed Initiative grant that proposes various Combined Sewer Overflow reduction measures for the Gowanus Canal. Stand Ups Give BAC: A Fundraiser for the Brooklyn Autism Center
This event will feature a prestigious line-up of America’s best stand-up comedians, performing at the historic club Caroline’s on Broadway. Janeane Garafalo, David Cross, Dimitri Martin, Judah Friedlander, and several more top talents performed last year to an exclusive crowd. This year’s line-up, hosted by Susie Essman of Curb Your Enthusiasm, promises to keep the laughs coming! There will be a silent auction and cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 23. Brooklyn Heights Association Annual Meeting
This year’s Annual BHA Meeting features speaker Michael Van Valkenburgh, principal of Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, who will speak not only on his firm’s work on Brooklyn Bridge Park, but on the broad topic of the creative process in park and landscape design, featuring projects from around the world. There will also be awards presented to those who helped make a difference in the area. All are welcome. Film Screening: “Road to Fondwa”
This event is a film screening and open discussion about Haiti. “Road to Fondwa” is a documentary that challenges conventional wisdom regarding international development and

RHED Meeting
The Red Hook Economic Development will be holding its monthly meeting to discuss its development and the introduction of their new merchant organizer.   1. Having been mugged, had my car stolen, robbed, etc. within a few blocks of that church in the 90s, I’d say Ft. Greene has gotten better, and landlords are entitled to charge for it.

    Bed Stuy now is better than Ft. Greene in the 90s and roughly the same price as Ft. Greene was then.
