alice…Alice…ALICE!
Irondale Ensemble presents alice…Alice…ALICE!, an original, environmental excursion performance piece, based on the beloved Lewis Carroll classic, Alice in Wonderland, directed by Jim Niesen and designed by Ken Rothchild. The audience follows the ensemble down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, — the nooks, crannies, recesses and lofts of the Irondale Center and its historic 19th Century building. This Wednesday is the opening night and will run until February 20th. Wednesday, January 27. 8 p.m. $35 for adults. $20 for students. 85 South Oxford Street, Irondale Center.

John Manbeck, author of Historic Photos of the Brooklyn Bridge, presents the story of this iconic structure through a broad range of images drawn from many sources. Manbeck is a former Brooklyn borough historian and is the author of several books on Brooklyn. A wine and cheese reception will be held at 6:30 PM in the Brooklyn Collection Reserve Room. Afghanistan: A First Hand Report
This event, sponsored by Fort Greene Peace and Brooklyn For Peace, will help answer questions such as: What is life like in Afghanistan with the war going on?, How is the war impacting the lives of the Afghan people?, and How is Obama’s surge strategy being received in Afghanistan? David Wildman, co-author of Ending the US War in Afghanistan: A Primer, will answer these questions with his personal experience. The NYC Department of Education is holding a public meeting of the panel for educational policy at Brooklyn Technical High School.
