The money raised at this upcoming show will go to Campaign For A National Health Plan (CNHPUSA) for radio, tv, and print adds to promote single-payer health plan, rental for spaces that hold town hall style meetings to raise awareness, and recruit more people to work towards making single-payer health care a reality. Performances will be held by April Smith, Tracy Bonham, Dayna Kurtz, Kaiser Cartel, Mascott, Lucinda Black Bear, Cat Martino, Milton, Kevin McGinnis, Greta Gertler and other special surprise guests. The City of New York invites you to attend a public informational meeting on the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to add Newtown Creek to its National Priorities List (Superfund). FIPs and Brooklyn Based are throwing a naughty holiday office party for the fictitious Home Base Supply Co. (We make it easy to score!). Only unlike real company holiday events, no one is expected to behave on this night. Instead of lame secret Santa gift exchanges, hot & sexy Santas (real-life farmers Michael Grady Robertson of Queens County Farm and Ben Flanner of Greenpoint Rooftop Farm, as well as some surprise hot chicks) will invite the Home Base “staff” to sit in their laps and pose for Christmas card photos. More insanity will insure. Hard drinks (scotch and sodas) from 7 – 8 p.m., and $3 Busch beer all night. Land Use Public Hearing
This public hearing held on Monday will discuss a grant of a special permit pursuant to Section 62-736 of the Zoning Resolution to modify the requirements of former Section 62-34 to facilitate the construction of a mixed use development on property located at 470-490 Kent Avenue. These actions would facilitate the development of 801 units of housing, 160 units being affordable, 29,000 sq. ft. of rental, 496 accessory parking spaces, 33,200 sq. ft. of waterfront public access area, in three buildings ranging from 18 to 25 and 29 stories. Brooklyn Reading Works presents Feast, Writers on Food curated by Michele Madigan Somerville. A benefit for a local food pantry, Feast authors include: Sophia Romero, Nancy Garfinkle and Andrea Israel (authors of The Recipe Club), Greg Fuchs, Michele, and more.
