Imagery & Its Power
“Imagery & Its Power is a presentation about the original use of the N-word in its historical context using visuals, DVDs, and a PowerPoint presentation to engage youth and adults in an open, honest, and historically revealing interactive discussion. The purpose of this effective presentation is to critically analyze history, propaganda, media manipulation, and past/present-day caricatures in understanding. The Women’s Health Program
Interfaith Medical Center has opened up a new Women’s Health Center at its Bishop Orris Walker clinic facility. The clinic is located at 528 Prospect between Franklin and Classon Avenues. They are having two preview days in the on December 1st and 2nd. Light refreshments will be served. Open City Dialogue with David Byrne
He’ll be discussing his theory of artistic creation, which hinges on the idea that rather than performative spaces coming about to suit music or other such art forms, the music/art that is created comes about to fit the pre-existing spaces. MARP’s 10th Anniversary
Join the Board and Staff of the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project LDC as they celebrate 10 years of work in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. There will be music by local legend Bill Lee and his jazz quintet, an open bar, and food tastings from a selection of Myrtle Avenue restaurants such as abistro, Anima Italian Bistro, Jive Turkey, La Stalla, Luz, Sans Souci, and Tamboril. SOB’s Holiday and Christmas Party
Bring a friend or two and come early to the Society of Old Brooklynites meeting and this year’s Holiday and Christmas Party. 3rd Annual Snowflake Celebration

Once again The Park Slope Chamber of Commerce is organizing its two nights of food, special sales, and entertainment (carolers, snow machines, and ice sculptures) to encourage holiday shoppers to make their purchases… here in their own neighborhood! Over 150 merchants participated last year. Marty Markowitz will be visiting 7 or 8 businesses during the celebration, and we already have a whole fleet of music groups signed up to wander the avenue singing and spreading cheer.
