Brooklyn Greenway Benefit
The Brooklyn Greenway is poised to be a 14-mile path for recreation and transportation that will run from Greenpoint to Sunset Park. It will connect four regional parks and numerous open spaces on Brooklyn’s waterfront. This benefit will feature a Swedish smorgasbord, drinks, and music along the new Greenway segment at IKEA Brooklyn.

The Gowanus: Brooklyn in Transition
The Gowanus: Brooklyn in Transition is an art show by Jose Gaytan. The show’s theme is “A Photographic Essay of the Gowanus.” It runs through August 29th,

Newtown Creek Community Health Project Meeting
If you are a resident of Greenpoint, East Williamsburg, or Maspeth and worried about health problems caused by the pollution in your neighborhood, attend this info session to share your story. It will be part of a community health project that aims to document the public health concerns of individuals residing in communities along Newtown Creek. The study will be conducted by the Urban Public Health Department of Hunter College/CUNY, HabitatMap, and the Newtown Creek Alliance.

LPC Hearing on 166 Amity
The Landmarks Preservation Commission will hold a hearing regarding 166 Amity Street. The application is to install mechanical equipment at the roof, alter the rear facade, and excavate at the rear yard.

Park Circle Workshop
Review the Results & Ideas Generated by the February 19 Open House Hosted by Community Board 7 with Community Boards 12 and 14. Help determine what short-term safety, circulation and landscaping improvements should be implemented this fall by the Department of Transportation and Parks & Recreation. The proposals were developed in response to a lively and participatory community “brain storming” workshop and will be presented by NYCDOT. Ft. Greene Rat Meeting
South Portland Avenue in Fort Greene and other blocks in other neighborhoods have been dealing with an increase in rats. Rodent expert Dr. Robert Corrigan of the Department of Health will be present to discuss rodent control strategies, as well as representatives from the Department of Sanitation.
