Newtown Creek Neighborhoods Community Mapping Workshop
habitat-map-1008.jpgIn partnership with the Newtown Creek Alliance, HabitatMap invites the community to participate in a mapping workshop. In the workshop, participants will learn how to navigate city, state, and federal databases for information relevant to their own personal health and the health of their families and communities. Participants should come prepared to begin mapping their neighborhoods so bring any relevant documents and photos.

Wine 201 at UVA
UVA is hosting a wine tasting, Wine 201: An Introduction to French Wines. The tasting will take you through a tour of the major wines and wine regions of France.

Demystifying Affordable Housing in Sunset Park
In collaboration with the Fifth Avenue Committee, the Center for Urban Pedagogy will present a workshop on affordable housing in Sunset Park. The workshop will be conducted in English and Spanish.

Citytech’s Theaterworks Presents Gravesend Inn-A Haunted Hotel
Theatreworks’ high-tech haunted hotel, the Gravesend Inn, returns again. City Tech’s resident theatrical troupe help create this theme-park-quality Halloween attraction.

Gowanus Affordable Housing & Zoning Workshop Presents “Demystifying Zoning”
In collaboration with the Fifth Avenue Committee, the Center for Urban Pedagogy will present a workshop on zoning in Gowanus/Carroll Gardens. Attend the workshop to uncover the meaning of zoning jargon and analyze how these proposed changes will affect your community.
