Public Hearing for Expanded Bed-Stuy HD
The Landmarks Preservation Commission is holding a public hearing for the proposed Stuyvesant Heights Historic District expansion.
Tuesday, August 2nd at 2 p.m. in the 9th Floor Conference Room at 1 Centre Street.

National Night Out
Several communities are holding events for the National Night Out on Tuesday. National Night Out programming is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership; and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The North Flatbush Avenue BID is sponsoring an event at Grand Army Plaza from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. that will include free t-shirts, food and beverages, games for children and meet-and-greet with the members of the 78th precinct. In Downtown, the 84th Precinct is holding an event starting at 5 p.m. at Brooklyn Bridge Plaza Court Street (rear of 209 Joralemon Street) that will include appearances by the Gowanus Wildcats Dance Team, 84th Precinct Explorer Scouts, Precinct Officers, Mounted Police, Elected Officials, and the NYPD Auxillary Band.
