I’ve always been pretty underwhelmed by Lefferts. It’s fine I guess but I’d never choose to live there over Bed Stuy or Ditmas.

That store is not one we’d shop for food at, but it has a lot of character. I think it’s cool looking. The repulsion towards anything ethnic or grubby is proof of how, as many are writing about these days in books and articles, NYC is becoming “suburbanized” and turning into one big shopping mall. It’s like one guy said on brownstoner this past week, “we’re all living at the mall”. Ditmas is cool, but it’s the mall, face it.
Lefferts is a favorite neighborhood of mine. The housing stock is great.
