  1. You’re right 10:40am. People NEVER come to New York City because of the tall buildings. They are all an eyesore, and the world supports us in our quest to tear these monstrosities down.

  2. Yes, Brits and other fun foreigners live in the three referenced nabes. But they are NOT coming over here for the “exciting” Atlantic Yards project. Hardly. According to the article and my experience they are here to enjoy low-rise townhouse living, small shops, and a strong sense of community — the things Atlantic Yards directly threatens. The fatuousness of the AY crew never ceases to amaze.

  3. My experience has been that the Brits, French and others I’ve met that have bought in brownstone Brooklyn over the past 5 or so years are well to do, but not generally bankers – they often seem to work in the corporate world, but in other industries such as media and advertising, a few lawyers, some creative types who have sold property in London and moved here for work or relationships. There are quite a few I must say, though I’m not sure about the 30 to 40% quote regarding prospective new buyers… In any event, welcome. They’ve been good neighbors and I enjoy the diversity of people.

  4. there are a lot more british accents in ft greene, carroll gardens, boerum hill than a few years ago, and they are not east enders on a weekly wage, thats for sure. But in the end guess what most of them are over here for investment banking. I think that trend might run the other way if it isn’t already.

  5. hey i just think its a good idea for all who post comments to state where they’re from…it might explain why they may feel a certain way about certain issues….all while retaining anonymity.

i think it will add a certain richness to our conversations
