  1. Heather;

    OK. The idea of making a block of apartments vacant was so that they could get a “bulk price” from the contractors (for renovating them). Like DIBS said, it looks like it was botched.

    You may not want to hear this, but take it from ole Benson: the clock is ticking on the PJ’s. They are aging, and the government is running out of money to support them.

  2. I’m pretty pissed at the waste of money and number of vacancies. It is great that the displaced tenants aren’t living on the street, but wouldn’t it be nice to actually have someone living in those apartments again?

  3. Heather;

    From the NYT article:

    “Of the tenants in the 1,027 units who relocated, families in nearly 300 units stayed within Whitman and Ingersoll and those in roughly 600 other units went to public housing developments around the city, the agency said. Tenants in 50 units took the federal vouchers, and those in nearly 100 other units made their own private arrangements.”

    And exactly what is so outrageous about this situation?????

  4. The janitor should have asked if there was room for one more. Seems like the most logical choice to me.

    Don’t worry fellas, they will be in the rubber room for at least a year at full pay. The Board of Ed is going to tread lightly on this one.

  5. I am confused. I think I need to read the piece you’re talking about, because it is inconceivable to me that anyone calling lesbians ‘crotch cannibals’ could be even remotely empathic and positive.

    Where did you see that?
