Christmas Day at Green-Wood [Sunset Park Blog]
Happy Boxing Day, Bruce [No Land Grab]
Less Than 300K [Kensington Blog]
man those christmas lights have me dreamin’ about a time when the gowanus will be lined with ricky ticky crab shacks and beer bars… as the ukelele plays, people kiss and glasses clink away another lazy summer night…
Oh, what the fuck am I talking about? This BUBBLE is fucked and this country as IN THE SHITTER!!! Dream on, Fucktards, the jig is up and the shitshingle is departing to the burning pits of hell on the hour. Hope you enjoyed your overpriced, over financed digs while you had ’em!
The What
Someday This War’s Gonna End…
On the subject of diners, both Fifth Avenue Diner between 8th/9th and Daisy’s between 9th/10th are excellent.
I thought those things at the bottom of the pic were water lilies for a few seconds.
They’re pilings of course.
That’s GowAnus. Beautiful till you see something floating. Seriously, they’ve aerated the water and it’s been decent and romantic for a little over 10 years. They used to have tours a la Venice, except it ain’t Venice.
Change may be the only constant, but there are more good diners remaining in the area. Several are along Fourth Avenue and there are many more along Third Avenue. One, at the corner of 3rd Ave and 7th St has probably the lowest prices in the area. It’s also many times larger than the Donuts Coffee Shop.
Meanwhile, along 5th Ave, on the other side of 9th St — the higher numbered streets — there are lots of diners. A good one is on 5th Ave near the Prospect Expressway overpass.
What a beautiful piece of water.
Where is that?
