The NY Post sends a videographer to document the Navy Yard, including a tour of the 1838 Naval Hospital and the chief surgeon’s residence. Nice servants’ quarters (they call them “cute and cozy”). For those of you who feel it’s off limits, Navy Yard folks say they want the public to come inside.

  1. Great! I’d love to be able to see even just the buildings in the video. If people were better able to tour the the Navy Yard, there would be more support for preservation of Admiral’s Row, and other historic parts of the Yard. It’s hard to get passionate, or even concerned, about someplace that’s off-limits and behind tall walls. As Brooklynites and Americans, we should be proud of the history of the Navy Yard. It played an important role in several wars, and in the development of the borough and city. We want to see it up close!
