Below please find a short piece that I wrote over 6 months ago. It might as well be today. Maybe it should be sent once a month to our Elected Officials.
Another worker died yesterday, on one of the many questionable developments being allowed, indeed encouraged by our City and the DOB. How many more have to die or get maimed before something is done to stop these so called Developers in there quest for the all mighty dollar? Last year the NY Post ran an article stating that the 2nd most deaths, in this City, were on construction sites. Number one was murder. These so called construction deaths should be reclassified as premeditated, Murder. The people who are running these sites know, very well, what they are doing and they know that what they are doing is illegal and a threat to everyone. From the people who work for them to the Community, to the people who will end up buying these, shabbily built, death traps. Everyone suffers, except the people who are behind all the LLC’s involved in these scams. They know that the people{ DOB, DEP OSHA, etc.,}, who we, the tax payers, pay to protect us from these atrocities, will not do what they are paid to do. Unless of course Mr.’s Katan, Radufsky, Scarranno, etc. ask for some action to be taken.
A long time ago it was said that many in the community believe that someone is being paid off. One City official said “Can you prove it?” I said “When I was 6 years old I was taught that 2 + 2 = 4, all these years later, that hasn’t changed.”
The people of this city deserve some answers:
Why does it take months sometimes years to get a response from DOB for many hundreds of calls complaining of the illegal practices of Millionaire Developers, and yet only days to respond to complaints against a small home owner? Why is it that if and when DOB responds to the complaints against Developers the response, if any, is lackadaisical and half hearted, yet when responding to a complaint against a small home owner the response is Immediate, Aggressive, Threatening, and Relentless? 2 + 2 still equals 4.
The DOB has effectively become the personal facilitators and henchman for a bunch of Millionaire Murderers.
Who will pay the bills when all the taxpayers are run out of the City? Not Mr.’s Katan, Radufsky, Scarranno and the rest of these so called Developers.
Why isn’t the city stopping work at all of these questionable job sites? Instead our tax dollars are being used to facilitate the continued expantion of these death traps.
Three strikes and your out Bob. We’ll make sure the proper authorities look into this, this time!
No longer is this guilt by association, this is guilt by the track record. Toss the lot of them in jail and throw away the key…
Disgusted!
The worker killed in the construction “accident” was working at 733 Ocean Parkway, a Robert Scarano building. I think RS should have to carry the dead guy’s corpse back to Mexico on horseback under the supervision of Tommy Lee Jones.
