Are dog walkers considered independent contractors for tax purposes? Does anyone know if they are paid per poop bag or per block walked? Our city needs revenue! First we taxed bottled water not nannies and dog walkers are next.
90% of Park Slope nannies work off the books! laws don’t count if you shop at the food coop and voted for Obama. gross !!!!
the ability of people to pick and choose what they consider wrong for others, but ok for them is mind boggling.
Hey, I’m with you ENY. Looking for a good place to watch a game too.
But it can look interesting and still have lots of close seating. At least I hoped it would also look interesting…
Dh and tyburg, i have to disagree with you. The main road/access road combination of Eastern Parkway makes crossing Washington, Bedford, Utica, or any of the two way avenues that transect it more hazardous thanit should be because peds have to contend, on their walk signal, with two potential streams of cars turning right fromthe parkway. The cars turning from the main road have a lot of time to speed up and head on their way, and often dont see the second crosswalk at the outer edge of the access road. Washington is complicated by the various slip offs. The intersection needs stricter enforcemeent, and better design, that forces cars turning from the main road to acknowledge BOTH crosswalks in their path.
“Barclays center interior = blah. Kind of disappointing…”
Good for sports fans, though. Lots of lower bowl seats, meaning good sight lines across much of the space. I’m not looking for a museum – just a good place to watch a game.

Full agreement DH. SERIOUSLY…. what would a “WALK” signal do for you?! Let’s look at any intersection. What happens when there’s a WALK signal? Can you cross the street with you eyes closed and head down?! Or are there cars turning right and cars turning left from the cross road?
This is so absurd.
You have to cross when there is a RED light for Washington traffic. This means you have to deal with turning traffic from Eastern Pkwy. This is HOW IT WORKS! The walk sign would add NOTHING in terms of safety.
And as a bicyclist (many many times through this intersection), I’m not sure why this is a problem and why the 13 bicycle injuries are a relevant statistic! Bikes ride WITH traffic. If they decide to not follow the flow of traffic, then it has NOTHING to do with the supposed “safety” of this intersection. Do *cars* have a hard time navigating this intersection?! Bikes that would have to navigate this intersection *like pedestrians* are riding against traffic — i.e., the WRONG WAY. Otherwise, they are going with traffic… yes, service road to service road on the north side takes a little *patience* but it’s hardly dangerous.
dh, I hear the “other” site is no longer.
