sorry denton- I thought you were being sarcastic. I used to like it down there too.
Ditto: Yes, this weekend. I’ll be hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I’m itching to go on a good hike as I haven’t been in a few months.
Was it you that gave me good hikes in Bear Mountain? I jotted them down when we were discussing it, but lost the paper 🙁
If it wasn’t you, do you remember who mentioned them?
Where are you going on Sunday?
Take it to the Open Thread.
Sorry all, continue discussing Dumbo and how it’s become a cease pool of gentrifying Assheads pushing out manufacturing.
Let’s hike in Dumbo!
Bxgirl, I didn’t say it was bad at all. Not in the least. Thought it was great, actually. I’m a big supporter of mfg.
And the DUMBO of 30 years ago was bad for what reason? Actually, it was quite interesting, and even had- gasp- manufacturing.
Got any hikes planned soon BRG? I’m thinking of going on Sunday.
“homogenized”??? As in milk?
If left out, it will go sour.
Homogenization? There’s not much difference between DUMBO and the UES, except DUMBO has more car fumes. The only thing there worth a glance is about to fall down anyway.
Re Dumbo:
“Little by little, we watch as what is wonderful and unique about the city is paved over and homogenized,” said the Brooklyn-born Ortiz.”
Yes, let’s go back to the Dumbo of thirty years ago, where there were no famous actors or famous TV shows, only a few artists and a large manufacturing base.
