Fire everyone at the MTA and replace everyone and restructure the MTA across the board. Also, require them to get full value for properties that they are selling, instead of giving land away for political favors.
No Open Thread today?
Rob, agree…some graffiti is great.
You should walk the Manhattan Bridge when you get close to Manhattan you’ll see some great roof top graffiti. There’s also laundry lines with clothes flapping in the wind amongst all the ‘art’.
A very NY scene.
Cut the MTA wages across the board.
whatever im sort of over the thought of a huge hike. i am a little bit upset tho at the jack up on the access a ride card. it’s going from 2 to SIX?! that’s just wrong. the access-a-rides btw are for the elderly and disabled. yeah, nice increase their fare by 200 percent.
however, this isnt set in stone, and i think they are saying they are going to raise the access a ride so much to get sympathy from albany… who knows, it’s still annoying.
i guess i can swallow the monthly fare increase of 81 to 105.. but there are so many people out there who never even get the chance to buy a monthly, they consistently have to scrape and scrounge for daily cards or weeklies just to get to work.

Why does the MTA bother with public comment periods when they know they are going to go ahead with the increases regardless of public opinion/outcry? I mean, I know there is likely something on the books that forces them to do that, but what is the real point? People show up, complain about the rate hikes, MTA officials pretend to listen intently, and the rate hikes take effect anyway. Have they ever said, “You know, people are really against this and can’t afford it. I guess we should try to make more money in other ways, like increasing the costs for subway advertisers, trying to negotiate lower prices for materials or something.” This is all a bunch of garbage.
yep, scratchitti is always so egotistical – me me me my name everywhere…
nice wall! graffitti when done right is really great. (im not talking about on trains and stuff tho some of that looked cool back in the day).. scratchitti and acid etching however is seriously beyond lame. it’s weird, take a look at the trains, look closely.. every window is scratchittied and acid etched, but because it’s somewhat opaque it’s easy not to notice it. and it’s always really ugly, no talent, blah tags with stupid names.
