  1. On the DOB article:

“With engineering, it is either right or not,” [DOB’s Chief Engineer] said. “This dates back centuries. This is a known trade. There is very little new about this stuff.

Exactly. Boo hoo, some contractor’s complaining because it actually takes more time, skill, and money to do something *correctly*.

    jerkoffskis

  2. 9:27,

I hear that a few families have moved there from Brooklyn Heights, where they’ve been renovating those old broken-down “brownstones” for a couple of years. I doubt that this “brownstone revival” will ever catch on.

  3. Could the alt-side parking fiasco be revenge from DOT traffic planners to Park Slope? A possible reason: For vehemently opposing the stupid DOT idea to convert park slope’s avenues to one-way streets.

But whatever the reason, why would the City let the DOT do this during a horrible economy? They are losing ticket revenue!

  4. Absolutely amazing! This is the THIRD NY Times article about alternate side parking being suspended in Park Slope. Some reporter who lives there must be VERY worried about not being able to park. It’s OK though, because we know how comprehensive the newspaper of record’s Brooklyn coverage is every day 🙂
