Re: Governor’s Island – went there a few weeks ago for opening day. It rained but was a lot of fun. Great place to walk around with a picnic area and great views of downtown and the harbor. The tours are short and sweet as well.
They also have an interesting diorama inside one of the buildings discussing an air tram of sorts from what looks like the Red Hook piers to Governor’s Island to Battery Park. It was designed by Calatrava and is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. I sure hope it’s a pipe dream and not reality. It would really ruin the harbor.
Ratner must be stopped at all cost! He’s going to destroy Brooklyn. I received the DDDB email and voted at least fifty times! I encourage everyone who loves this borough to do the same! Vote as much as possible and get your friends and colleagues to do the same!!! AY is bad for Brooklyn!!!
