The developers are getting big tax breaks for the park and for the affordable housing. So I don’t get why they are saying “Oh the landmarking is making it so hard for us to do the park and the affordable housing.” It is so revolting to see them play passionate members of the community against one another. We should be able to have affordable housing without so much density and without losing a big part of local history. Lucky for me I will be priced way out of the neighborhood I love by the time this horrible horrible thing breaks ground.
This looks disgusting. Leave the domino factory alone! Burn all the luxury condos down. Burn baby burn!
i love the domino plans! so amazing.
the glass top is excellent. it’s a piece of crap – a frickin gross closed factory.
i cannot wait – so much public space, so much retail!
cool cool cool
Domino developer in the Sun today: “There is an enormous cost to preserve the building. We are trying to create some economics that absorbs that cost. It is reasonable to spread some of that around,” Mr. Lappin said.
What a load of crap – they have an 11 ACRE site on which to spread around the economics of development. There is no economic reason to dump this floor area (which amounts to less than 70,000 sf) on top of the historic building.
The LPC is holding a major public hearing on a day when the whole City Hally area is going to be crammed jammed with people?! I know that these things need to be scheduled in advance, but with the threat of these areas being inaccessible, it seem unfair to anyone who wants to participate in the review.
