  1. I wish I had seen this post yesterday. I caught a flat on the pedestrian side of the manhattan bridge this morning. I know I’m not supposed to be riding on that side of the bridge, but it was early so not many people were walking at that hour and the view is way better on that side. Whoever is putting staples on there is a misanthropic jerk.

  2. “It might be a pedestrian that doesn’t like cyclists,” says Brooklyn Heights Bike Shop manager Tony Scarselli. “The Manhattan Bridge has a pedestrian and a bike side. The bikers that came to me with flats, many of them were riding on the pedestrian side.”

Not cool, but neither is riding on the wrong side of the bridge.

  3. Re: sabotage.
As I frequently walk home over Manhattan bridge, I did notice couple of times all the discarded staples on the walkway. Maybe twice in 2 different weeks. Occured to be that someone trying to create flat tires.
Maybe I was right. Have not seen latelyh thought. (and this was on pedestrian side – not the bike path over the bridge).
