The bourgeois nonsense the NYT – it’s not really alone in this department – is at times so ridiculous that I think it would work better in something like the Onion.

Re: Old World Lux for the bathroom – just another example of the level of unreality the NYT typically reports. Urban Archeology sinks, Waterworks fixtures, etc, etc. Yeah, all within the budget of your average, or even above average homeowner. NOT! I expect that if I’m reading House and Garden, it’d be nice to have a newspaper article give me a more reasonable perspective, or at least a range of choices.
