  1. All right, so maybe the comment about the NYT was a bit harsh, but they are still business partners of FCR, which they disclose in most articles reporting on AY. Disclosure aside, I find it hard to believe that the fact of their relationship with FCR (FCR is a co-developer in proposed new NYT building) does not act as a constraint on critical reporting on the AY project. I cannot recall one piece in the NYT that reported any meaningful criticism of AY since it was announced.

  2. c’mon crouchback. Its a fluff opinion piece for DDDB not ‘reporting’.
Matthew Schuerman has been long time critic of AY not a ‘reporter’.
But granted that silly comments like Goldstein’s get blown up in press and have nothing to do with the issue at hand. But calling NYT an organ of Ratner is also complete nonsense. You are just as guilty as others for
trying to discredit those with whom you disagree rather than keeping to the issues.

  3. The Brooklyn Eagle article is a hoot. Aside from a triplex that is described as like being “in a Venice canal”, there is nothing about why this development is a “prewar throwback”. Instead, the article describes a typical Brooklyn condo – Scarano-designed mezzanines and Escobar-designed interiors (who the hell is Andres Escobar, and why (other than millions of Brooklyn condos) is he “world renowned”????).

  4. Great article in the NY Observer. It contains the kind of reporting you won’t find that FCR organ, the NYT. Favorite bit was from Bob Law, a former radio personality and Black Panther, who claimed “The first person to say [the offensive statement that got Goldstein in trouble] was me.”
