Gowanus Water Quality and Issues Meeting
“The Future of the Gowanus Canal: A Community Forum on Environmental Quality” takes place today at the Belorusian Church at Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street. Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Pete Grannis will be in attendance, along with a variety of Gowanus Canal advocates and representatives from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and the Army Corps of Engineers. Cave Canem Poets at Brownstone Books
Brownstone Books hosts an evening of poetry with Linda Susan Jackson, Jacqueline Jones LaMon, and Gregory Pardlo. They will read from their first books of poetry. Gallery QB Opening Reception
Gallery QB hosts an opening reception for Brooklyn-based Doug Groupp’s “I Didn’t Know You Had a Head Until You Got That Arm Attached to It.” The exhibit is a collection of limited edition silk-screens on canvas and one-of-a-kind collages on paper.
