  1. I’m with you 12:00. When I’m out with my kid my priority is keeping her safe. I absolutely would not confront someone or provoke a situation that could end up with a stranger yelling at me or worse.

  2. you know what is interesting to me…that people (moms) say things to other people (the workers) knowing that it could turn into a hostile situation. Cursing workers are probably NOT going to stop cursing and will in turn just end up cursing at you–in front of your kid. I am always surprised at how people in park slope just say anything they want to people. maybe I am from the old school, but I have seen how simple situations can quickly turn into a bad situation, so while i think it sucks that the workers were cursing in the park, i probably would have just “minded my business”, grumble to myself and kept it moving. i definitely would not have confronted them and certainly not in front of my child.

  3. NYC is a vast place. Prospect Park is pretty large. Why do you have to smoke and curse in a playground? A crowded playground at that? Can’t you do that somewhere else? Smoking is against Parks Department rules. The very least their workers can do is follow their own rules. Park Slope parents may be annoying, but in this case, they have a point.
