Good I agree, There should be NO housing in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It is not needed. It is for some greedy developer.
Can’t the Park just be a Park without having housing all over the freaking place…….
If the plans Brownstoner previously posted re: BBP housing (http://bk.ly/wDv) are accurate, I really don’t get the opposition. If Furman Street gets residential development, the only loser will be the barbed-wire lobby.
No surprise that the Cobble Hill Association is against Housing. The Housing is not “in” the park anymore than Sutton House on Central Park South is “in” Central Park. The proposed Housing will border the park. Unless CHA is going to pony up the funds to pay for the park, then perhaps they should stick with the agreed to proposal of have housing developments cover some of the costs of the park.
If it was around at the time, the CHA would have opposed the Brooklyn Bridge.
