How does Ravitch feel about the school cuts? 15% reduction in teaching staff! It might force some necessary school closures, though.
The property tax situation is a boondoggle for brownstone owners like me. It’s not fair.
slick…the union structure and the contract negotiated doesn’t allow for such. Therefore, some lose a lot instead of everyone losing very little. Typical union recalcitrance.
tybur6, in my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the property tax structure as it currently exists.
It would be nice if they took advantage of this crisis by reworking the screwed up property tax structure.
how about a pay freeze? it would save most government jobs.
most states have mandatory days off and such. it wouldnt be asking much.
Nice when the City was milking the housing bubble tax revenues it created alot of jobs with the pork and fat with our tax dollars now it is taxing our bottled water! Nice being Mayor when tax revenues are good hay Mayor?
