Developer East River Partners has revealed renderings for two apartment buildings that will replace an Italianate townhouse, a carriage house and garage on South Oxford Street in Fort Greene. BuzzBuzz Home spotted the renderings for the four-story buildings, which will bring five units to 164 South Oxford and nine to 171 South Portland.

Artist Marc Lambrechts sold the assemblage for $7,500,000 in January, and the developer filed new building applications soon after. On its website, East River Partners promises the development will be “an architecturally sensitive residential community.” The architect of record is Barry Rice Architects.

It looks to us like they are keeping a surprising amount of space open on the lot. What do you think of the designs?

  1. In a better world the house would be lifted and moved to an empty plot in another part of Brooklyn, logistical nightmare yes but better than destruction. A perfect world would have landmarked it.
