The Full Spectrum on One Block of Waverly
The juxtaposition of these two architectural styles on one block of Waverly in Clinton Hill was too much to ignore. Quite a contrast, no? GMAP

I don’t think those are falling down at all, they’ve look pretty good to me.
How is it possible to do a facade like this Fred Flintstone-looking thing in a Landmarked district? Was it done before the neighborhood was landmarked or did they just do it and say violations be damned?
I predict awnings over windows will make a comeback and become quite chic.
Love those clapboard houses. They’re kinda falling down, though. Somebody just needs to throw a s–tpile of love into them, and they’ll be great.
An interesting double juxtaposition (juxtaposition to each other and to these houses) occurs on west side of St. James just north of Gates – first house in is a tiny little stucco that was probably as ugly as the above house on the left until someone fixed it up really nice and I think it looks great. A bit further up are some tiny little clapboard houses that someone has been doing a TON of great woodwork on (see above re: s–tpile of love), and they look fantastic.
