The Edge, the 565-unit condo on the Williamsburg waterfront (that also plays host to Smorgasburg and the Brooklyn Flea), has achieved LEED Gold status from the US Green Buildings Council. It’s the largest development to gain LEED certification of any level, which makes the Gold rating that much more impressive. Contributing factors: Insulated walls, non VOC-emitting interior finishes, FSC-certified hardwood floors, water efficient fixtures. Even the construction process was green, with 84% of waste being recycled. The Edge, which is located at 34 North 7th Street, has been on a sales tear over the past year to the point where there are only 25 units left.
