Streetlevel: Subway Coming to Court Street
We doubt anyone was sad to see the old Blimpie’s at 66 Court Street fail. Now, we hear that its replacement will be none other than Subway. Moderately better, we guess, but hardly reason for the foodies to rejoice. GMAP

Blimpies are not consistent shop to shop. The decor always looked dark, sloppy, and ding, which gave the impression that the food wasn’t fresh.
Subway is the exact opposite, even though you’re likely to get more protein from a 6th grader’s home made sandwich than one of their 6 inch subs.
There’s something unsettling about tuna salad served with an ice cream scoop.
ftgreenepark: What’s your point?
Subway is owned and operated by Doctor’s Associates, Inc. (DAI)
do you think Subway being owned by Doctor’s makes it diff’t from BK/McD’s/Blimpies?
duh yes. park doper.
Isn’t replacing a Blimpies with a Subway like replacing a Burger King with a McDonald’s? If the one couldn’t make it on this street, how is the other likely to do any better?
And when you ask them to change it, they look at you like you’re asking them to explain sine vs. cosine.
Why does Subway put the meat on the top part of the roll?
but yeah Subway reeks that unique Subway smell
No place like Sunny & Annie’s in the East Village for a good sandwich, 24/7…mmmmmmmmmm
I used to work at Subway’s, and I can still say, Subway’s > Blimpies/Quiznos
