La Petite Provence, the restaurant from the owners of Provence en Boite that opened in the old Patois space on Smith Street, didn’t last very long. The restaurant’s Niçoise-style small plates didn’t seem to draw much of a crowd, and the space is now home to JB’s Burgers. In addition to burgers, they’re serving beer, wine, brunch items, and hot dogs on baguettes, and they’ve already got a loud and fancy website. Anybody think that Provence chef Jean Jacques Bernat will have better luck with a downscale burger joint? GMAP

Too many American flags inside. The food will probably be good, but the decor is goofy.
I don’t think there is one restaurant in NYC that doesn’t have a Mexican staff? At any rate, great contribution to the discussion.
Saturday..1:30??? Do they take reservations???
LuLuc has a great brunch. What time??
Eye candy, bfarwell.
OK, then it’s settled, let’s all meet at Lu Luc for brunch on Saturday. I have to go to Los Paisanos anyway.
Sorry, how is the staff being mexican relevant?
Delepp,
I’m not sure if they are all Mexican. Definitely hipanic for sure, but my Mexican friend thinks they are also not all Mex.
I always got the feeling like LuLuc was an all cash biz. I.e. not reported. Just a hunch.
DIBS, I like bar tabac but too noisy. Luluc is more relaxing. And closer for us when we’re real lazy….
