Streetlevel: Promenade Shifts Space in Dumbo
As previously reported on DumboNYC, Promenade Car Service, a particularly over-priced and unfriendly business in our experience, has moved from its Dumbo headquarters from 102 Front Street to 151 Front Street. But who really cares where a car service is located? After all, 99 out of 100 times you’re calling in your ride. GMAP

dirty_hipster – use New Bell. Cheap and reliable. I used to use Arecibo but they blacklisted me after I forgot to go outside for my cab a couple times when I was dru- tired.
I use Promenade all the time, but only for airport runs, so I can’t say anything about other trip fees. But in my case, they are completely reliable, usually show up in advance of my pick-up request, the cars are always clean (all Town Cars), the drivers usually ask me which route I prefer (which I would insist upon anyway), and I have zero complaints. I have them pick me up on return from the airport as well, and while that sometimes means a little longer wait than I’d like, I find them overall the best service I’ve used in 20+ years in Bklyn.
Love Family Car Service.
Boerum Hill – do you buy your underwear at Bergdorf Goodman?
Promenade is the ripoff of all ripoffs.
I’ve used promenade off and on for 15 years and they’ve always been just fine.
So what is the recommended car service to use if it is 3am, one is drunk and at a bar in Caroll Gardens, Fort Greene or Prospect Heights and needs to get back to North Brooklyn?
Last year we took Myrtle Car Service from Wallabout to Dumbo for $8. An hour later we did the same trip in reverse using Promenade. Price tag: $15. Total joke.
I use Promenade frequently. Always on time and cars are in good shape.
Never had a problem with Promenade. Loathe the Cadman guys who take up all the parking places on Henry, though.
