Promenade-Dumbo-0309.jpg
As previously reported on DumboNYC, Promenade Car Service, a particularly over-priced and unfriendly business in our experience, has moved from its Dumbo headquarters from 102 Front Street to 151 Front Street. But who really cares where a car service is located? After all, 99 out of 100 times you’re calling in your ride. GMAP

  1. dirty_hipster – use New Bell. Cheap and reliable. I used to use Arecibo but they blacklisted me after I forgot to go outside for my cab a couple times when I was dru- tired.

  2. I use Promenade all the time, but only for airport runs, so I can’t say anything about other trip fees. But in my case, they are completely reliable, usually show up in advance of my pick-up request, the cars are always clean (all Town Cars), the drivers usually ask me which route I prefer (which I would insist upon anyway), and I have zero complaints. I have them pick me up on return from the airport as well, and while that sometimes means a little longer wait than I’d like, I find them overall the best service I’ve used in 20+ years in Bklyn.

  3. So what is the recommended car service to use if it is 3am, one is drunk and at a bar in Caroll Gardens, Fort Greene or Prospect Heights and needs to get back to North Brooklyn?

  4. Last year we took Myrtle Car Service from Wallabout to Dumbo for $8. An hour later we did the same trip in reverse using Promenade. Price tag: $15. Total joke.
