When we first got word last Spring a North Fork bank was slated for the former dance space at the southwest corner of Clinton and Fulton, we mentioned that there was some uncertainty surrounding bureaucratic approvals at the state level. Well, judging from the signs in the window, it looks like all the permits have come through so residents of this corner of Clinton Hill will finally have an alternative to bodega ATMs.

People on this site are never happy. If banks do not move in to an area, they are maligned as racist and not willing to invest in “the community”. But if they do move in, people complain about aesthetics, ATM fees, etc.

It seems that the majority of contributors on this site don’t understand the meaning of banks or for that matter savings account. OK class now listen, get up from your keyboards and take extra money that you have and save it.

Is the Fulton BID actually a reality now?
As for the street repairs, they are ongoing and are not scheduled to be done until early next summer. Hopefully the final phase of sidwalk repair and tree plantings will occur.
I though Bstoner said there was some activity recently in the Bodegas space that supposedly will be developed by the Maggie Browns/Pequena people…

Don’t usually banks bring some wealth in the surrounding areas ? and the idea of a developing district formation is kind of good since the fulton bid hasn’t done anything yet!by the way there will be a meeting about the future of Fulton street methadone clinic on November 16th at 2pm in the office of assembly member Jeffries at 55 hanson place.
There are no banks on Fulton between Flatbush and Bedford. Not one. And you guys are complaining? There a ten other empty storefronts for everyone’s dream list. And why shouldn’t a dry cleaner be on the first floor? Or a bank? Have any of you seen that stretch of Fulton? Dead, dead, dead. Now my complaint is that it is not a Chase.
