The signs on the windows at Smith Street’s Caserta Vecchia say that they’re renovating and will be reopening under new management. “That, one would presume, means that there will be a new name and menu as well,” Pardon Me For Asking writes. Any info on what will become of the place? And where are you going to get your neighborhood thin-crust pizza in the meantime? (We were fans of the place, but delivery from Enoteca on Court is filling in nicely.) GMAP

  1. Sad to see, but hopefully they’ll enjoy some relaxation after getting out of the restaurant biz. One of our favorite places while we lived in that hood, but everyone must move on at some point.

And, yes, Enoteca is a great place to get some thin crust pizza.

  2. I commented on this last week on another thread (231 restaurant). Now you post like new story. Just pretending never read and that I scooped last week.
You think nobody pays attention to what I say.

I would not presume new name as Ms. Nimby PMFA writes. Business had been listed for sale for couple of years. Hope new management is good as last. Nice, family run place. They even let me taste homemade tangerine-cello from relatives farm in Italy.

  3. Sigh. I hope they don’t change much. I really liked it – a respite from the other places on Smith. Okay fine, this was me and the ex’s…….”place”. Alotta memories.
