Lost City recently posted about all the empty storefronts on Atlantic near Henry Street, and we mentioned that Abitare on Henry is closing, but it looks like a new coffee house is opening called 139 @tlantic. As noted by Brooklyn Heights Blog, the place will offer fair trade coffee, live entertainment, interesting furniture, contemporary artifacts and a unique atmosphere. GMAP

  1. The most dangerous building entrance in the city. Seriously is that some kind of violation? Plus it looks like shit. At least the scaffolding finally came down after years.

  2. This was the art studio years ago? The retail stores on this part of Atlantic typically don’t last long due to a lack of foot traffic.

  3. No, it’s not owned by a cult, Minard! The guy is eccentric, very. But also pretty interesting. I’m curious to see what they do there. And yes, better change those stones to something less lawsuit worthy!

  4. ROB: Hasn’t your mother told you? You WERE abducted by a cult. And it’s the rest of us who are now paying the price.

PS. Can I have the bluestones when they clean this place up?

  5. what kind of cult are they? as a kid i used to have fantasies about getting abducted by a cult!!! remember when jerry blank got abducted by a cult on strangers with candy? hahah
