Streetlevel: Chase Opening Tomorrow on Front Street
We’re hard-pressed to think of a retail opening that we’ve been more excited about than the Chase bank that’s coming to the corner of Front and Jay in Dumbo. (Okay, except for maybe Choice’s opening back in April ’06.) We’ve had an account at Chase since it was Chemical back in the early ’90s, which…

We’re hard-pressed to think of a retail opening that we’ve been more excited about than the Chase bank that’s coming to the corner of Front and Jay in Dumbo. (Okay, except for maybe Choice’s opening back in April ’06.) We’ve had an account at Chase since it was Chemical back in the early ’90s, which worked out great when we lived in Manhattan. But ever since we’ve lived in Brooklyn, we’ve been shit outta luck when it comes to banking. When we lived on South 4th Street in Williamsburg we were stuck with bodega ATMs (the bane of every cheapskate’s existence); since living in Clinton Hill, the closest Chase has been more than a mile away on Washington and Flushing. So it is with great relief that we await the Friday opening of the branch at the base of the J Condo, a mere four blocks from our desk in Dumbo.
Dumbo Update: Umbrellas, Banks and Blacktop [Brownstoner] GMAP
Ooooh, people are excited about amenities that make life in the city a little more livable, the horror! 4:57, we should all be thrilled to do our “banking” and “grocery shopping” in our local bodegas for the privilege of living in New York?
For everyone else who posted the location of other Chase locations, er, thanks… but for those of us who live / work in DUMBO, this is our new local and I’m glad it’s here.
There’s a chase at Restoration Plaza. It’s closer to some areas of Clinton Hill.
sorry, 4:56. you’re right, we’ll call them mid-level furniture stores
Banks and huge big box grocery stores are what passes as culture and excitement for the residents of modern NYC. Perfect.
Very excited about the bank too and the pharmacy which is hopefully coming soon.
ps: Dumbo has high-end furniture stores? Bo Concept and West Elm are like the Gap…
isn’t a wine store supposed to go in some of the retail space in jcondo?
There has been a Chase on the corner of Flushing and Washington? for a while now.
well, a drug store is coming to the space on Jay Street…
anyone know what’s going on with the other retail spaces under J-Condo?
