So Long Stucco Shitbox, Hello Pre-War Goodness

Sassy is a sucker for pre-war apartments, and if I’m gonna spend 2500 a month to own a 1BR, it’s gonna be in NYC, not San Diego (sorry Dago!). The stucco 70’s shitbox will not cut the mustard.
Word. Sassy’s Top 5 Hoods in the County of Kings? 1) Clinton Hill/Fort Greene; 2) Bay Ridge; 3) Red Hook; 4) Prospect Heights; 5) Ditmas Park.

Sassy’s other postings didn’t like idea of ‘projects’ nearby so don’t get how RedHook comes in at #3. A little bit of residential and a lot of project there. Besides lack of transportation.
Carroll Gardens much better choice.
As a Ft. Greener currently residing in San Diego I can only applaud your decision, Sassy. We took a fling with this city, but aside from learning how to surf and, of course, the weather, it’s been a bust. No culture + little community + inept government + lotsa cars + similarly insane housing prices = nostalgia. With all respect to the host, the housing quality itself is the least of the attractions of Brooklyn for our family, it’s what’s outside the doors that doesn’t have an equivalent.
