Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar is bringing some Mexican flavor to downtown Brooklyn this summer. The Florida-based chain of Mexican joints already has signage up at 339 Adams Street, where it inked a 15-year lease for 14,500 square feet last year. Community Board 2 also voted to support a full liquor license two weeks ago, and the restaurant said it plans to stay open until 1 am.

The chain’s first New York outpost will serve over 225 varieties of tequila and guacamole prepared tableside. The huge space, formerly Morton’s, has a 4,800 square-foot lower floor for private parties and can seat up to 140 people. Managers said they hope to open within the next two to three months. GMAP

  1. Yuk. One more chain restaurant corp that appeals to fast food regulars. It will probably make it because most NYrs have never tasted good TexMex, CalMex, or NewMex (think Santa Fe) food.
