Remember last week when we broke the news that Pat Kiernan had bought a house on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg? Well, today, The Times gets the NY1 anchor to expound on the decision to move his family to a 2,600-square-foot home in the land of the hip. “We’re under no illusions that it could be confused with a trophy property from the front,” he tells the paper of record. “We’re not trying to build a showy property. We just want a comfortable place to live with our family.” The $2,025,000 price was the highest ever in the ‘Burg, says The Times. And just in case the recent renovations done on the house aren’t up to snuff, Kiernan should have enough loose change after the roughly $4 million sale on his Upper West Side penthouse.

  1. its not that he moved from the uws to williamsburg. lord knows they’re probabaly sick of horrible restaurant options and highly soggy people. although im sure they will miss the parks.

its more that they picked something that is ground zero for drunk morons and the new hipster street beggars. and the sheer barfiness of the curb appeal.

howevz, they are prob fun and nonpretentious people at heart and thus the choice. bet they’ll “upgrade” in a couple years though.

  2. This morning Pat Kiernan showed the article as part of “In the Papers”. He also mentioned how he almost missed the photo shoot because he was trying to get from NY1 to the house via the L train. He made some joke about how the L train may become a problem in his future. ( I figure they send a car to get him for his very early AM shift.)
