The Bushwick Farmers’ Market is opening more retail locations in areas where organic, local produce is scarce. Its latest farm stand is located in Bed Stuy at Broadway between Halsey and Saratoga, open Thursdays during the summer from 10 to 6. Coming soon is a sixth location, as yet unspecified, as well as a roving truck powered by the sun and waste vegetable oil. The Bushwick Farmers’ Market sells a wide variety of vegetables from six farms, including one located on the roof of Brooklyn Fire Proof East, a performance space and restaurant in the Bushwick loft area. And they take food stamps.
