I wonder how much money you save as a member of that. Versus say Fairway, which has fabulous prices. And Rossman’s Fruits on 22nd st and 3rd ave has dirt cheap produce.
The co-op is not the democracy they claim. If it were, a majority of the members think the work schedules should be cut back because so much of it is ‘make work’ w/ the huge membership they have.
BHS- I am sure every Park Slope member believes the sun rises and falls on the co-op’s mood.
Did think the gas chamber reference was way over the top but I have yet to read anything about the co=-op that isn’t aswirl with hyperbole.
On the other hand, telling the co-op to boycott Israeli goods is ridiculous. Their members are all adults, they can decide for themselves what they want to buy.
zzzzzzzzz
My understanding is that if you buy mostly organic/free range/etc.., then the co-op prices can’t be beat.
I would never join, unless perhaps my wife agreed to do both of our shifts.
BHS- ah- equal opportunity mockery- I like it! 🙂

I totally agree that they boycott is ridiculous.
I’m just glad I can make fun of both sides now 🙂

One of the anti-boycott people tried to tie the boycott to the very survival of Israel and then made a gas chamber comparison.
I wonder how many people realizes the key role Park Slope Food Coop plays in the rise and fall of nations and peoples.
I posted dibs- but without lech to chime in, I don’t think it will get much attention. 🙁
