  1. Wow, that is crazy Lechecal. So glad your parents are coming down. Hope your wife is on the mend soon. Hope all goes well with the move.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. They cheered me up so much you wouldn’t believe it.

As it happens I did *not* get a hard drive (did not read most of this until midnight) and sure needed one because somehow my access got cut off midway through copying disks, argh. Sent a message to HR and hopefully something can be done tomorrow.

I’m a journalist covering tech and fashion, and I’m going to be looking for a job doing social media strategy, content, and community for a fashion brand or retailer — DIRTY HIPSTER.

Anyway, I’ll be in touch. Thank you all for the nice things you said and your extremely helpful advice. You guys really know what you’re talking about. Have a good night.

  2. That way lies madness. More often than mind is willing, flesh is weak it goes the other way. Getting sick under pressure has to do w/ reduced resources from being strung out: maybe not sleeping as well, digestive upset, etc. Don’t go that route – it’s destructive.
Good luck, lech, & I add my services to those already offered if you need help. Hope your wife rallies quickly w/ the anti-bs & all goes as smoothly as poss.

  3. thanks prez

Moving to Europe I would assume it’s the new petri dish that gets you sick, not the stress.

I never get sick when I’m stressed. I get sick when I relax. Weird, right?

Anyways it’s all good. I’m heading home soon and then I’ll finish up the packing and get ready to get it done tomorrow. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!! Frankly if I can make it through enlisted boot camp I think I can handle a move to Westchester when I’m paying other people do to almost all of the hard work.

    OK groovy people. I’m audi.

  4. lechecal, I came late to brownstoner tonight. sorry to hear of your wife’s pneumonia. I do think people get sick when too much is going on for the body to handle. almost half of my family is moving to europe. they are there right now, and very sick. they made an offer on an apartment, are shopping for a car, everything for a complete relocation. it is both thrilling and exhausting. I hope you get help, as indicated, or wait for the wife to catch up. she has a large burden
getting all of the troops (kids) packed and ready. Best of everything.

  5. Good luck with everything, please tell your lovely wife I hope she gets well soon. If you have to, duck tape her to a sofa so she can get some rest. ; )

Great that your folks are stepping up to keep the little ones out from under foot. It will take some strain off.

    Bon voyage!

  6. Thanks bxgrl, thanks CGar, thanks everyone, I’ll pass that along to her.

I’ve been calling up the troops and have gotten a good response. My dad and stepmom will be on their way down from VT tomorrow morning to keep the kids out of the way and generally help out.
