  1. Well I figured! You want to get the cars out of Manhatten right away. You don’t want traffic creating smog there. On the otherhand let the people that live along the BQE breathe the smog, Who cares? Not Doomberg.

    its being done….

major reconstruction of mostly the Manhattan ramp. There will be two lanes from the FDR to the BB.

There will be two lanes from the Manhattan Bound roadway to the FDR.

Its over 400 million to do major reconstruction of the bridge roadway, and ramps….

but I don’t think you will get two lanes from the Northbound BQE to the Bridge….

  3. If the DOT wanted to do something useful they could build a double-lane access ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge but then again that might get the traffic moving on the BQE and you don;t want rooklyn to be without air pollution.

  4. My cousin’s kid told me that his friend’s father worked for the DOT, on the BQE exclusively for thirty years! By defination, the BQE is an interminable construction [roject started by Robert Moses.

  5. not true, the hamilton avenue part is much better now. I used to spend 15 mins of a 30 min journey coming back from visiting the relatives on Staten Island just sitting there. Its freed up pretty well.

  6. Can we just build a new trench on 4th Avenue? I hope they use a quicker setting cement! Waiting 6 months to do that bend on the Hamilton Avenue curve is a killer for traffic plus their is still no improvement in the flow of traffic.
